Guidance & Counseling Services

      The Guidance and Testing Center assists students in developing a better understanding of their abilities skills and career interest. Career and educational resource information is available to assist students in choosing and pursuing meaningful careers.

INDIVIDUAL INVENTORY - Seeks to collect data about all students in order to draw up well-rounded picture of them. Know them better and facilitate the identification of services and activities that may be more responsive to their needs and personality.Students Information Sheet (SIS) forms are filled up by new students in each academic unit at the beginning of the school year.

INFORMATION SERVICE – Which imparts about personality development, mental, personal, moral, spiritual, vocational, occupational, career opportunities and social aspects of individual’s life. The information provided will be valuable to students in making decision and plans.

COUNSELING - VMUF provides a variety of counseling services. Students are encouraged to seek counseling whether the primarily want information of require assistance with a situation of immediate concern.

REFERRAL - This Refers to the assistance rendered to clients or their significant others in obtaining services from other people or agencies that might be more effective in helping them. Referral is also offered to other people, particularly specialist, who might be in a better position to respond to the peculiar needs of the client.

TESTING - The Guidance and Testing Center offers various vocational, interest personality and aptitude tests to assist students in forming their career goals. These tests help give students a better understanding of their own personalities, interests and abilities and how they might fit into the job market.

PLACEMENT SERVICE - This provides individual information to graduating students in their future world of work. It also assists graduating student finds suitable jobs for them through linkages with prospective jobs from companies.

FOLLOW UP SERVICE - This service is responsible for finding out what happens to the students who had availed services which the Guidance and Testing had offered as well as contacts with the former clients.

EVALUATION - Evaluation Service seeks to evaluate the effectiveness of the services and programs, which were implemented. This serve evaluates the data available at the center as an aid to curriculum and program development.

ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES
      The counselors identify programs that would be most beneficial to the students. This is made possible through guidance-oriented activities responding to the needs of the students according to the year level. Noteworthy are lectures on Personality development Self-Enrichment, etc. Seminars for the faculty and the other members of the community are also organized where topics relevant to their personal growth are tackled.

TEACHING AND NON-TEACHING PERSONNEL SERVICE
      Faculties can also avail themselves of the service that the Guidance Office offers. Hence, they can approach the counselors for counseling and for testing or test interpretation. They can also make use of information materials available in the Guidance Office for their own plans decision-making.
